Hero Arts December My Monthly Hero: Depth with White Pigment Ink

I wanted to create an encouragement/congratulations card for my nephew who recently passed his DAT test and I thought the multiple stars offered in the kit would be perfect paired with the whimsical cloud ladder. 

I started my creating an ombre blue sky by ink blending several shades of blue from lightest to darkest. I then heat set the background before stamping on my stars on a string in white pigment ink. I then heat set them with white detail embossing powder for my first layer. 

I used the same white pigment ink to stamp the smaller cluster of stars overtop of them first fully inked and then second generation as I moved down the card towards my lighter colors giving the look of the stars fading off which I love!

For my second card I combined the Twinkling stars hot foil plate with a fun watercolored/ink blended background. I used a few die cuts from the You’re magical bundle to accent my sentiment and called it good! But….

I had this pretty little scrap left over I just couldn’t throw away! hahaha. That same nephew is getting this simple but fun birthday card 🙂
