Cozy Colored Cards, A Crafty Friend & My Newest Stamp Set

Hello Crafters!

I have a few different things to share today so let’s get right into it!

My friend Jenn Shurkus is hitting a huge milestone this year. She has been a crafting and sharing for 20, TWENTY! Years She invited a few of us to help her celebrate and is also doing fabulous giveaways from her sponsors. Jenn is always an endless source of talent, encouragement, and kindness.

Jenn asked us to find some inspiration from one of her past projects and create a card from that. It was so hard to make a choice but I chose this one.

I loved the colors in her card, the distressed text and watercolor feel. I partially stamped a vintage texty stamp in the background after adding water to my distress ink. I wanted to create even more texture so I used a 3D embossing folder on the background as well. Jenn has those fabulous distressed edges on her panel. I did a similar but more subtle look with a sanding block.

For the leaves I smooshed down similar colors to Jenn’s, sprayed with water and pressed my watercolor cardstock into the puddle. I love the watercolor mixing you get with this technique. I also added some shimmery gold splatters because we love all things shiny.

Once the watercolor papers were dry I die cut my images from them. I did want them to be a bit more bold so I added even more color with the same distress inks and some blending brushes.

I mounted it on some kraft cardstock just like Jenn and added an embossed sentiment. This video is part of Honey Bee Stamps video hop which you can watch below. Don’t forget to head over to Youtube to hop along.

I also created two more cards using some products from the new Hello Harvest . One is using my newest stamp set Life’s Sweet Moments and the other is a scene. Of Course lol.

This card uses the New Rise & Grind. I kept the color palette nice and simple so we could concentrate on our coloring. You can see the video and it’s supply list below.

These two cards feature Life’s Sweet Moments stamps and dies. I love a versatile set so when I’m designing mine I try to make it as versatile as possible. One of the cards shows a clean and simple everyday design and the other focuses on the florals without any of the treats. You can watch both cards come to life in the video below.
