This kit is just gorgeous on it’s own but I got a little help from the add ons too 🙂
I used the Dark Sea Bold Prints stamp background to create these easy watercolor backgrounds. Get this, WITHOUT watercolor paper. I know those beautiful blended backgrounds are on regular cardstock, Neenah 80lb to be exact.
I actually used an old school tool to accomplish this look. I did have to dog it out of the back of a drawer but thankfully crafters save everything lol.
What was it?
A brayer. If you’ve been crafty a long time you may already have one too!
You can use monochromatic colors or mix it up! I applied the ink with the brayer 2 colors at a time. First loaded up one color and then another. Once I had the brayer loaded up I applied it to the background stamp. I moved the brayer up a little on the stamp and down a little so the two colors blend on the stamp.
Once you have the stamp completely covered then spritz the background lightly with some water before applying your cardstock. I use a scrap piece of paper to cover the cardstock and the entire stamp to help keep my hands clean as I apply pressure with hands. The more water you use the less detail the stamp will have.
