Welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio Essentials Blog Hop! Some might think essentials are a little boring but Pinkfresh has a way of adding little details that make a BIG difference. Before we get into the card let’s talk about the giveaway!
Pinkfresh Studio is generously giving away the full release on the Pinkfresh Studio Blog & YouTube channel. They also will be giving away a total of TEN $25 gift cards along the hop. As per usual with blog hops – the winners will be picked from the comments. They will pull the winners & post them on November 13, 2024 on their GIVEAWAY PAGE. You must check that page & claim your prize within 2 weeks. Good Luck!
I chose to work with the Nested Rectangles Diagonal Stitch Dies for my cards today. I paired it with the florals from Always Smiling to create three different cards.
I started by stamping an all over pattern. An easy trick to make sure your pattern looks like it continues on is to stamp off the sides of the card. I typically start with stamping in the middle of my cardstock to make sure I don’t end up with an empty awkward space. I also stamped an extra floral image on a separate piece of cardstock. Once the stamping was done I added some rainbow ink blending randomly over the entire card front.
Once the ink blending and stamping was done, I used the stencils to add colors to the full floral image. Then I wanted to create a frame by die cutting out the middle. I also used the largest rectangle to add the fancy diagonal details. Taking the middle out gives me a ready made rectangle for another card. I mounted the rectangle on a piece of black cardstock and again used the A2 sized die to add the additional detail. I then went in with a black alcohol marker and colored in the negative space. This gives tons of drama with the bright colors popping off the black background.
As dark and dramatic as the first one is, this one is as equally light and airy. For this one I cut another frame but this time the rectangle was much smaller. I connected the pieces using some vellum to add interest. The floral image was trimmed into two pieces and tucked into the frame. All the cards were treated generously with clear sparkle markers and accented with Glacier Jewels. You can see the entire process for all three cards in the video below
I still can’t choose between the all black and the all white! I hope you found some color inspiration for your ink blending. Please continue on the hop by following the links below.
