Welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio Gentle Greetings & Greenery Blog Hop! This release is such a good mix of different items. Before we get into the card let’s talk about the giveaway!

Pinkfresh Studio is generously giving away the full release on the Pinkfresh Studio Blog & YouTube channel. They also will be giving away a total of TEN $25 gift cards along the hop. As per usual with blog hops – the winners will be picked from the comments. They will pull the winners & post them on December 18, 2024 on their GIVEAWAY PAGE. You must check that page & claim your prize within 2 weeks. Good Luck!

I used the Cheerful Blossoms to create two different cards. I love that this style of set let’s you easily stamp, stencil, and cut multiples quickly. I stamped my flowers in Calico White Pigment ink and then sprinkled on some white embossing powder. I heated my embossing powder until smooth and then moved on to stenciling.

I chose five colors that all worked nicely together (Bubble Gum, Candy Violet, Turquoise, Aquamarine, and Sunshine) and I stared stenciling using a sticky mat to hold everything in place. I wanted to create a painterly look so I was fairly light handed. However, if you have no plans to use the markers (as I did later) then you can most certainly put down bolder color.

I knew I wanted to add those same colors to the background. For the first one I used ink smooshing on watercolor paper with my inks. I would smoosh it onto my glass mat, spray with water, pick up some color with an acetate sheet and deposit it onto the background. With the second background I used the leftover inks on my brush from stenciling the flowers and created a diagonal rainbow from one corner to the other. This one I lightly sprayed with water (because it’s not watercolor paper) and did a few spatters of clean water before blotting it up with a paper towel.

I did them same (lightly spray and then splatter) on to my flowers as well. If you would like a more painterly look you can use a small amount of water and add it randomly into the flowers to create more of the watercolor effect. I did not watercolor paper for this so it did you the water sparingly and made sure to blot it up with my paper towel. Last but not least I splattered on some Perfect Pearls for some shine to all the elements. Once they were dry I die cut the flowers out.

If you love the really soft look you can skip this part entirely. However, I do like a more vivid pop of color (especially in this dreary Ohio weather!) so I went back into the flowers with sometimes just one, two at the most, alcohol markers and added some more shading. You want to make sure to leave some of the stenciling color showing. It helps create the hand painted look. I paired these cheerful blossoms with the Notched Corner frame, I love how you can add the detail or not!

I cut my sentiments from the Basics Sentiment set and white heat embossed the sub-sentiments in white on white. I then ink blended the main words and the sub sentiments to match. I used two different colors over top to again create a more interesting look mimicking that of the “painted” flowers. You can check out the entire process and hear a little story time in the video below.
