Hello Crafters!
Today is the last day to the countdown of the newest Hero Arts My Monthly Hero!
This one is super fun…well these two?
Did you know there are two kits now?!
Both kits, the Classic and the Premium, along with some wonderful add-ons, will be available on Monday, March 6 at 10am PT.
WIN A KIT BEFORE YOU CAN BUY IT: Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from comments left across all countdown posts on the Hero Arts blog. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, March 6th, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win. Good luck!
I mean, stop it. Squeeze the Day? It’s adorable.
I started off by heat embossing my background using clear embossing powder to make it stand out but not too much. I added a bit of ink blending around the edges as well.
I couldn’t let the background stand out too much because I wanted these gorgeous oranges to be the star of the show. The were stamped, colored with Copics, and cut out using their coordinating dies.
I adhered them down to a white cardstock square and added a light shadow underneath them to ground them. The square was then added to the card with dimensional adhesive. This card layout works so well for so many elements. BUT we’ll talk more about that tomorrow when the kit releases!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Make sure to stop by the other designers blogs for more inspiration and chances to win!
P.S. I do have a video on how I created this card…You can find it here.

The Way of Plants: Shading Shortcut For Faster Coloring with Alcohol Markers
Hello Crafters!
Popping in super quick to share this fun and easy technique with you.
Do ou ever wish coloring intricate images could be faster and less overwhelming without sacrificing the dimension we love so much?
Me too!
So here I am to share a little trick to help.
Do all your shading with your base layer.
No really.
I added all my shading to my pot with my blues. By coloring across the entire image only shading this portion it creates the rounded dimension I love.
Then I can add my other colors on top to create the multi-color look with half the work and time.
It will change the hue of the colors laid overtop but that’s okay. Do a scratch piece to practice and it will show you what each color will look like. Then just use that practice sheet as your palette to select your colors. Super easy!
You can see the whole process and have a little bit over story time too in the video below.
If you super love these stamps today is the last day for free shipping over at Colorado Craft Company so you may want to pop over and snatch them up.
They also have these cute little mini versions of the stamps included in one set. Here I stamped them on watercolor paper and quickly used my Karin Brushmarker Pros to add color. The pots were stamped a second time and then heat embossed in gold for a little extra shine.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
