I used elements from the Premium Kit for my cards today. In the kit they have these beautiful snowflake stencils. I also used some of the add ons and their coordinating stencils too! I thought it would be fun to add some color to our darker colored cardstocks using our stencils.
I used the Unicorn White Pigment as the base of all my images. Once I had the whit pigment ink down I went in with my Hero Arts Reactive inks and laid down color overtop of them. Having the pigment ink as a base helps the colors to really pop off the dark background. I did some spatters with the Iridescent spray and outlined the largest snowflakes with a white gel pen for a bit more drama. I finished the card off with these cute little snuggle owls and a heat embossed sentiment.
For this next card it has a coordinating stamp set. I first stamped in my white pigment ink them heat embossed the image with white detail powder. I Used the white pigment ink with the stencils first and then again added color with my reactive inks. I think it adds a pretty dimension to the branch images. This pretty owl sitting in the branch finished this card.
For this last one I used the house stencils. Again I started with white pigment ink and then added a bit of color over top with my reactive inks. In order to get stronger color and a bit more personality out of the card I used the inking as a guide to add colored pencils on top. I didn’t spend tons of time blending it and in most cases I only used one maybe two colors of pencils. The result is a bit more whimsical which I think is super fun. Instead of outlining in white like I did the snowflakes I outlined in black. Outlining over pencil can be tricky if you’re using a wax based pencil but honestly I think the imperfect lines adds to the whimsy!
