If you’ve seen any of my videos you already know Blue is my boyfriend. I love blue in every shade! I decided to pair it with the color of the year for a very summer feel. I love all the press plates Pinkfresh has been coming out with and I decided to do a bit of experimenting. I started by pressing the Plaid Press Plate using Apricot ink. I then pressed it a second time without reinking, so…second generation pressing? lol. I also pressed the leaves from Joyful Day and the sentiment.
I heat embossed the large floral from Delighted for You in white on white. I then used the coordinating stencils to color up both my stamped image and pressed image. I layered several different colors of inks to create depth and dimension in my images. I kept the leaves lighter on the floral image since it will be on top to create our focal point. The darker leaves were partially stenciled with darker blues and on the other side I added some gold perfect pearls. to tie in the metallic elements I included in the card.
I used the Nested Hexagons to cut out a gold metallic frame and a second one much thicker out of vellum. The vellum adds another layer of interest and also gives a great resting place for our focal point. I used the gold perfect pearls to do some spatters in the background to create cohesiveness with the metallic frame and pearls. I used some matching peach colored cardstock for my card base. This color scheme is a little unconventional but I love the way it came out!
