Altenew October 2024 Blog Hop Release, Blooms of Friendship

I’m a long time lover of a clean and simple style Especially when combining bright colors with the addition of black and white. I stamped the images in Obsidian Black Pigment Ink. It’s such a fantastic stamping ink. You do need to give it a minute to dry or hit with your heat tool but the solid black makes it worth the extra effort.

I chose some bright color combinations from the Sunshine Valley Garden and Water Garden Artist Marker Sets. The stamp set includes Prairie Roses and Daisies in singles and an already put together arrangement. I colored them all the same so I could use them interchangeably while I figured out my different flower focal point.

In order to add interest to the background I used the Leafy Splendor 3D Embossing Folder on the white cardstock. Additionally, I watered down some of the Carbon Black Gouache and splattered it onto the background. I love a good shimmer so I also used some Iridescent Spray to add that shine to the background too.

The sentiments were stamped in black as well and cut out with the coordinating “Friendship” die. I used a few black enamel dots to accent the sentiment and finished it off by mounting it on a colored base. You can see both cards from start to finish in the video below.
