These little critters are just too cute! I had ideas for the Squirrels in Adventures in the Air and Never Far Behind. Ultimately this guy one out because of the teacher sentiment included in the smaller add on set, Greetings Banner. We’re getting close to Summer Break and that “Best Teacher Ever” sentiment is a perfect fit for the teacher thank you I’m going to need!

I stamped my plane first at a pretty strong diagonal to make sure I could fit my sign on an A2 sized card. I masked the plane and then stamped my squirrelly pilot and the sign banner. You don’t even have to mask the whole plane. I just did the top and the back end since those were the two areas I was stamping over.

The entire card is colored with Copic Markers but you can use whatever medium works for you. I out in my clouds and sky first. I did a very simple little tree line to create some extra interest. I really wanted my plane and his pilot to pop against my bright blue sky so I chose to go with yellow and red. There really is something to be said for the contrast between primary colors!

Once the coloring was done I went back in and added some details. I love a little shine so I added clear glitter to the wind shield, the propellor, the top of the plane and the pilot’s glasses. I also added some white highlights along a lot of those same areas. I combined sentiments from Adventures in the Air and the Greetings Banner to create a unique greeting for summer vacation.
