For today’s card I used the classic kit. I wanted to create something with a magical forest feel where this gorgeous fall frame was the entrance to a whole other world.
I die cut my frame out of watercolor paper and got busy adding color with the stencils. I chose to use the Core Inks so that the color underneath wouldn’t move when I added my gorgeous shine overtop.
Once the coloring was done I tapped out a bit of powder from a few different metallic sprays onto my work surface. I missed in a little water and then happily painted away to various parts of the frame to add all kinds of shine.
for the background I used the other half of my watercolor cardstock and created a fun ethereal background. I put down water and then tapped color off the nozzle into the background. I used my paintbrush to smooth any areas that were too strong. Lastly I used one of the detail stencils to add a bit of gold wax to the frame for even more shine.
You may have been asking yourself what shine?! Indoor lighting made it extremely hard to capture in a photograph so I took my card outside and NOW You can finally see how gloriously metallic these sprays are. The sunlight just makes it glow!!
Per usual I’ll have a video up later today!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
