Pinkfresh Studio Pure Joy Release: Romantic Watercolor

This card ended up with a very romantic ethereal kind of feel and I gotta tell you guys I’m kinda digging it. Pinkfresh always has amazing detailed really dainty feeling images that absolutely add to that feeling in this card. I used the Pure Joy set as my focal point and stamped it in no line coloring ink before I watercolored my images.

I played around with different applications of watercolor to get a few different looks. I also mixed quite a few colors. The leaves are all a different combination of Sap Green, Ultramarine Turquoise, and a little Cobalt Yellow (Aureolin). I repeated the yellow in my flowers as well as Quinacridone Magenta. I knew I wanted to a add a bit of metallic into card because, well, lately it seems like I just cannot do without it lol.

I heat embossed the large image from Pure Joy onto vellum using Gold Pigment ink and embossing powder. To create some interest in the background I also heat embossed the Garden Tapestry stamp in white on another piece of watercolor paper.

To create the background I laid down lots of clean water throughout the center and then spread it outside the embossing at a diagonal. I again repeated the green and turquoise colors through the background. I know not everyone loves splatters but I do so I added a few of those too.

Using a gold metallic watercolor I added bits of it to tie in the metallic embossing used on the vellum and the sentiment. More splatters of that too. Once I adhered everything around my circle I added in a few small gems to play up that magical romantic feel and accent the sentiment.
