Stamps, Dies & Stencils Oh My!

Hello Crafters!

Are you a morning person or a night owl? I was a night owl until I started working for myself and now I’ve come around to mornings somewhat. Tonight I’m late not blogging after the kiddos are in bed to try to stay on top of it! Momma’s gotta do what she’s gotta do.

Today’s card started out because I really wanted to show that moon’s aren’t just for spooky Halloween cards. You can use them in a night scene a night scene anytime! (If you are looking for a glowing moon tutorial you can find my video here. ) Once I got the idea for the moon then I threw in some die cut trees but the Gnome Santa was too cute to leave out and, and, and…. Did you know you can incorporate all kinds of products and still have a cohesive card design😊

I started by ink blending my blue moon. In the Mini Haunted Moon Stencil it includes both the stencils to create the moon and the positive piece to mask it. I masked mine and also cut a generic shaped hill out of more masking paper to create the snow. I and then did more ink blending to create the sky. A few splatters in the sky for stars and we moved on to the die cut trees.

For the smaller tree I actually cut apart the Giant Slimline Christmas tree to create two trees. I couldn’t fit all three on the card so I’ll save the other one for another project. Once I pounced some color on them I went back in with a spatula and the Paper Glaze Twinkle Lights to add my snow. The Twinkle Lights pastes already have glitter in them so I could skip adding the glitter I usually would.

While the paste dried I stamped my Merry Good Gnome and colored him up with Copic Markers. I die cut the gnome and sentiment out and then got busy building the card. I decided to draw another hill slope but this time I trimmed it out so I could put a tree behind it and my smaller tree with the gone on top of it. I added some detail to the gnome with a white gel pain to create a fuzzy look on his outfit. I used the same technique to add snow to the tree and then added a bit of glitter so it all looked similar.
